Awarded annually since 1946 by the Rochester Section of the American Chemical Society (ACS), the award honors Harrison Howe, one of the founders of the Rochester Section of the ACS, who was a fervent champion of research. Howe believed chemistry and the pursuit of chemical knowledge contribute to the betterment of society.
